Wexford Mental Health Association’s (WMHA) sixth annual Expressions Competition took place on Friday in the Allied Hub Wexford. Normally this would take place in front of a packed to capacity audience but unfortunately due to current restrictions, it had to be online. Each of the Acts sent their piece into WMHA in advance and were then contacted via Zoom on Friday morning by the judging panel to answer some questions in relation to their submitted piece. The standard of all of the Acts in this years Competition was inspirational. The judges were blown away by each and every one of them.
Entries this year were received from the following: FCJ Bunclody, Wexford Artists Community Theatre (WACT) New Ross, Bunclody Vocational College, Wexford Artists Community Theatre (WACT) Wexford, Presentation Secondary School Wexford and Colaiste on Atha Kilmuckridge.
WMHA would like to express sincere gratitude to our judging panel who consisted of Liz Burns – Arts Officer Wexford County Council, Gina Delaney – Area Development Officer, Mental Health Ireland and Annette Wall – Director, Wexford Mental Health Association.
Sincere thanks to our Sponsors – Wexford Credit Union and Mental Health Ireland and also to Allied Training who supported the Competition. Without their support, it wouldn’t be possible for WMHA to host the event.
All of the entrants were winners in their own right but after much deliberations, the judging panel had to pick the top three.
The winners were – Colaiste on Atha Kilmuckridge, Rachel Jordan, Michaela Milling and Belle Kisov. Their tutor was Joanne McGonagle. Click here to view their piece
